Here’s a Simple Strategy Using the Campus Email List

emailmeIf you have access to a student email list on your campus, this simple but effective triple-action, strategy can put it to efficient use. By composing a repetitive, three-part email campaign to promote your campus speaker everybody will get the details about your event in logical intervals.

Conducting a triple action campaign is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

  1. A week before your event, send out an email with a great subject line. Make sure you include a brief bio on your professional speaker (or provide a link), put the topic in a headline and make sure you include the date, time and place. Most importantly, tell them what they’ll get out of attending. (leadership skills, study skills, extra credit, free food, door prizes, whatever!)

  2. Three days before your event, repeat the email - including all of the details again - and assure everybody that it’s not too late to attend.

  3. The day before your event, send out a final email to bring your event to the forefront of everyone’s mind. Include the detyails again, ’cause you know they’ll forget! If they did remember about it, save them the hassle of sifting through their inbox to fiind that email from last week.

The double bonus is that students can just click the FORWARD button and help you get the message out to their friends! You might want to even suggest it in the text.

Also designate someone to keep an eye on the return inbox that can answer any questions. If you’ve got a great list, email is an efficient way to communicate details when you’re trying to pack a hall to hear your campus speaker.
