Where’s the Fun? We’re the Fun! (NYIT that is)

What the….?

“Where’s the Fun?” is NOT the first thing I thought when I saw these four t-shirts comin’ at me. Then I thought, “How the… are they getting away with that?” Followed immediately by, “Oh, I gotta ask!”

“Hey! You guys! What the…?” — That’s a conversation starter every time – especially in New York City.

The grins on the faces of Sheila Zabala, David Garcia, James Misita and Michael Cavalli – students at New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, New York – told me that they couldn’t wait for me to ask… that they’d been asked the same question before… and that they weren’t going to beat me to a pulp for asking. We were after all just off the mean streets of New York City (at an APCA conference) – when you ask somebody, “What the…?” anything could happen.

Let’s Get Creative!

My four new friends from NYIT and their “Where’s The Fun? t-shirts were a student activities creative hit in my book. It grabs attention, is WAY clever, makes you ask and makes you grin. The rest is up to these four great representatives of creative genius, productivity, fun and student involvement! With the activities planning ball in their hands I have no doubt that this is just the start of a year that answers the question, “Where’s the Fun?”

I didn’t get to meet their advisor Michael Burnett (Associate Dean for Campus Life and Director of Student Activities), but my hat’s off to you, Mike for working with a great Campus Programming Board. They’re the fun!

PEACE.

Great post Rick! This idea is brilliant. We all know the best way to get people to an event is word-of-mouth and this definitely gets the conversation started.
I know Michael Burnett and he has certainly impressed me. I don’t know if he came up with this idea or not so I applaud either his brilliance or his vision.
