Visualize What You Read

Dave Farrow (you won't forget my name!)Did you know that you are probably reading at less than half the speed you should? For the average professional or student that translates to over 800 extra hours per year spent reading! Imagine what you could do with all that extra time? Instant Speed Reading does more than improve your reading speed it also increases your retention of what you read.

Here is another speed reading tip for you:

A common mistake people make is they don’t realize that recall is not automatic. Just because you are reading it does not mean you will retain it. Being a world renowned memory expert gives me some insight into this. The solution can be very simple. Visualize what you read. Put yourself into the material. Even hard-core science has characters and events that happen. Unless you’re reading a book of lists or the dictionary, there is a story (and even then there are many stories in the dictionary).

Imagine the story happening all around you. Good writers help make this easier but if you meet a bad writer you will have to work harder. Start visualizing what you read right now as the first step to learning simple ways to remember even abstract information found in the driest of textbooks.

You deserve a better read!
