Lincoln Tech gives themselves appreciation for a change!

I had the privlege of sharing LIGMO and bits of the HeartMath program with 100 teachers and staff at Lincoln Tech in Melrose Park, Illinoislast week. Teachers are powerful people and have the opportunity to share their knowledge and shape our future generations.

They, however, are stressed to the max, dealing with their own DUKKHA, and that of their students on top of it all. (Dukkha is a Sanskrit word for Suffering or Drama). Everybody’s got some Simply Ridiculous Dukkha and this wonderful group was in the game to confront theirs and learn to LIGMO – let it go and move on!

It always tickles me to see a large group of people each doing the self-appreciation exercise and learning about the power of heart intelligence. Some of the feedback given was that it felt good, and yet, a little bit awkward. Ever notice that even the word awkward is awkward? And the process of giving one’s self appreciation is very awkward for the first time.

We’re used to acknowledging and edifying others, yet to give ourselves recognition is not something we’re taught to do. I’m happy to say that everyone observed Rule #1 (have fun) and had fun getting over their ridiculous selves. We’re all having the human experience and its easier to laugh about it together than cry about it alone!

That’s my policy. Clean up your act and have fun doing it at the same time. We spend way too much time coming down on ourselves and others. Bah Humbug!

Once again, I’d like to give the teachers and staff at Lincoln Tech some appreciation for the dedication and the commitment it takes to do the inner work, as well as work with students on a daily basis. They are in the trenches, working hard to make the world a better place by imparting practical, useable skills to our young people.

God knows it takes patience to teach and they have to strive to avoid burnout as sometimes teaching seems like thankless work. But it isn’t! Yet, they’ve got what it takes and they make the grade! Remember to give yourselves some appreciation each day Lincoln Tech. You deserve it!

Smile and Love to all the Teachers and Staff at Lincoln Tech!

That’s It – That’s All – Ya’ll!
